BentoBox is a clinical documentation tool that helps chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, and mental-health practitioners generate SOAP notes faster. You select findings on interactive diagrams and structured templates; BentoBox builds the prose for you to copy into your existing EHR.
Sign up for a free 7-day trial, then open the app. Pick a template, fill in the structured fields, mark up any diagrams, and tap Generate Note. The finished note is copied to your clipboard so you can paste it into your EHR.
No. BentoBox runs entirely in your browser. A Chrome extension companion is on the way for one-click pasting into common EHRs.

A macro is a saved snippet of clinical language you reuse — for example, “lumbar HVLA at L4–L5, supine, with patient tolerance.” Tap a macro to insert it into the current section instantly.
Open the app and go to Settings → Templates → New Template. Add the sections (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan, etc.), pick which diagrams to include, and save. Your template appears in the One-Tap Templates list.
Yes. Open any default template, tap Duplicate, then edit your copy. Your edits never overwrite the defaults so you can always start fresh.
Your templates and macros are saved to your account. They sync to any browser you sign in from. To download a backup, see Your Data below.
Each diagram (spine, body chart, meridian map, etc.) lets you mark findings with X, O, or freehand drawing. The marks become structured data that BentoBox writes into the narrative — for example, “tenderness at C5–C6 and L4–L5 on the right.”
Tap the Move/Resize tool first — that lets the page scroll normally. Drawing tools (X, O, Pen) capture vertical drags so they don’t accidentally scroll while you’re marking. A quick tap with X or O still drops a marker without scrolling.
Switch to Move/Resize, tap the mark to select it, then press the trash icon — or use Undo in the top toolbar to remove the most recent action.
Fill in the sections of the active template, mark up any diagrams, then tap Generate Note. The finished note is copied to your clipboard and shown for review.
BentoBox copies rich text by default, which preserves bold, lists, and headings when pasted into modern EHRs. Most EHRs (ChiroTouch, Jane, IntakeQ, etc.) accept rich-text paste cleanly. You can switch to plain text in Settings → Output.
Yes — the preview is fully editable. Make any adjustments, then tap Copy to refresh the clipboard.
Yes. Each section header (Subjective, Objective, Plan, etc.) in the generated note has its own small Copy button on the right — tap it to copy just that section. The big Copy to Clipboard button at the bottom still copies everything.
Some older EHRs only accept plain text. Switch the output format to Plain Text in Settings → Output and try again.
Chat apps (Google Chat, Slack, Teams, iMessage) strip embedded images from rich-text pastes — this is a chat-app limitation, not BentoBox. Easiest fix on a phone or tablet: tap Share Note (text + diagrams) on the Copy tab to open your system share sheet — pick Google Chat (or any chat app) and the note text plus every diagram are sent together as one message. On desktop, or if your browser doesn’t support the share sheet, use Copy Image under each diagram for a quick second paste, or Save Image to attach the PNG manually. Pasting into Word, Google Docs, Gmail, or your EHR includes the diagrams inline — no extra step needed there.
Every new account gets a 7-day free trial with full access. You will not be charged during the trial. If you don’t cancel before it ends, your subscription auto-renews weekly at the rate you signed up for.
Open Profile → Manage Billing & Payment. From the Stripe portal, click Cancel Subscription. Cancellation requires 7 days’ notice before your next renewal; you keep access through the end of the current billing period.
BentoBox bills weekly, so the renewal happens every 7 days. To avoid being charged for a given week, you need to cancel before that week begins. If you cancel mid-week, the upcoming charge will still process and you’ll keep access through the end of that period.
Because billing is weekly and you can cancel anytime, we generally don’t refund past charges. We do consider refunds for duplicate charges, billing errors after a confirmed cancellation, unauthorized charges, or extended service outages. See the Refund Policy for details.

No — not currently. Today BentoBox is provided “as-is, at your own risk.” You agree at sign-up not to enter Protected Health Information (PHI) — no patient names, dates of birth, or other identifiers. Use BentoBox to build clinical-language templates, then paste the result into your own HIPAA-compliant EHR.
A Pro tier with a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is in development. When launched it will be a separate paid tier with explicit BAA acceptance required. Email hello@bentoboxnotes.rocks to be notified.
Your account email, name, hashed password, subscription status, and the templates / macros / preferences you create. We do not sell or share your data. See the Privacy Policy for the full list.
Open Profile → scroll to the Danger Zone → Delete Account. This is immediate and permanent — your account, templates, and stored configuration are erased.
Yes. Open Profile → Your Data → Download My Data. You’ll get a JSON file with your account info, templates, macros, and configuration.
Bulk import isn’t available yet, but you can paste any text into a custom template. Email us if you have a specific format in mind.
Your account stays intact when you cancel a subscription — you can reactivate anytime. To permanently erase everything, use Delete Account from your profile page.
Modern browsers require a user gesture for clipboard access — make sure you tap the button directly. If you’re in private/incognito mode, the clipboard permission may be blocked. Try a regular window, or copy from the preview manually.
Switch to the Move/Resize tool — that allows the page to scroll. Drawing tools intentionally capture vertical drags so they don’t scroll the page while you mark.

Not yet — BentoBox needs an internet connection to save your work and generate notes. Offline mode is on the roadmap.
